A recent independent analysis of the University of California’s fiscal and economic impacts on California quantified UC’s contributions to the state’s economy and workforce. At the same time, the analysis noted that other important ways in which the university contributes to society are more difficult to quantify. These ways also tend to be less-often recognized. This forum will examine UC’s contributions to economic mobility, job creation, public service, and an engaged citizenry.
